Details of the Danish Crown Jewels.
As a child my favorite place would be to visit the petite romantic castle Rosenberg in the center of Copenhagen. When it was built it was designed as a country house for the current King Christian 4. Today it is the home of the Royal Treasures, including the The Danish Crown Jewels. The collection was founded in the will of Queen Sophie Magdalene in 1746. Who described that only the current Queen of Denmark was to wear these special pieces. The collection was extended by other queens throughout the following years. Many of the gems, in the crowns and parures dates back to the 13th century. The collection is on view for the public and is at the disposal for the Queen of Denmark to wear as she wishes, but never to leave the country. A sight for sore eyes of magnificent craftsmanship.
On another note. A new chapter is starting, I am changing up my social media. Now, with a new focus on showing amazing jewelry by creators that I admire, from past to present. Thank you for following me.
